Contemporary Use Of Floral Patterns

Floral patterns have long been popular. They have earned their title as an interior style staple and thus will never be deemed outdated or unfashionable. However, every traditional trend needs fresh impetus. If patterns, influences and combinations were to remain stagnant then we wouldn’t get new trends year-on year and excitement for decorating would be seemingly lost.

Yet it has been manipulated and twisted into an array of fascinating designs; from pop art, to abstract, to geometric. The result is a pattern that is used in most homes all over the country, yet at the same time no one seems to have the same interpretation, and thus no one feels like a ‘sheep’ i.e. that they are following the crowd.

Floral patterns are very much a part of this. They have evolved over the years and we are now left with an array of contemporary takes on the use of floral in interior design. The traditional form of floral patterns are a replica of what you would see in your garden.
Another easy yet highly effective way of using modern art is to get an artist to do all the hard work for you. If you don’t have creative flair then all you need to do is search for floral wall art online. You will be met with an array of stunning contemporary interpretations and thus all you need to do is take your pick.

There are lots of modern ways of using floral patterns in the home. A great option is to go for black and white floral patterns. When would you ever see black and white flowers? Never. The pattern works brilliantly because it brings a masculinity to flowers which are of course very much feminine.

Look outside and navigate to a set of flowers. Imagine if a picture was taken of those and that was your wallpaper. This is the inspiration. This is where this trend derives from.
And finally, a contemporary use of floral doesn’t necessarily have to relate to the pattern itself but it can relate to how it is used. Typically you would think the easiest way to incorporate flowers is through wallpaper or wall art. So why not go for something different, such as floral chairs.Via
